CHAMELEON FACES ARREST

Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameloene and his manager Robert Nkuuke aka Mutima have been given an ultimatum of two days  to pay Buddu broadcasting services  Ltd 15m Shillings in damages or face legal action.

Through their lawyers R. Nsubuga and Co.Advocates, Buddu broadcasting services Ltd alleges that Mutima received 2M shillings on behalf of Chameleone  as a commitment fee and partial payment for the singer to perform at the ‘Ekibbitu kya Radio Buddu’ themed fete at the Masaka recreational grounds on 21st  /01/ 2014.

The parties had agreed that Chameleone would be paid his balance of 3M at the venue before performing.

Letter with Intention to Sue
However, on the said date after the organizers realized that he was behind schedule, they decided to start making frantic calls to Mutiima, who kept on assuring them the singer was on his way.

The organizers were later shocked when the same Mutima called and informed the crew that the singer would not be available since he had flown out of the country for another performance in Kenya.

Torn between a rock and a hard place, the organizers were forced to engage another artiste in the names of Bebe Cool to save the day.

Amicable efforts to recover the initial 2M from the pair fell on deaf ears which forced them to contact their lawyers in a bid to recover the same and losses incurred on that day.

Chameleone of recent has had a reputation of obtaining monies from promoters and not showing up for shows with another recent complaint for KIV promotions based in Jinja who paid him 3M shillings on behalf of Bidco Uganda to perform at one of their gigs in vain.
