The low key birthday affair that sexy singer Leila Kayondo
had on Thursday night if at all she did must have been very private contrary to
the others that she held at swanky clubs in and around Kampala, gives credence
to pointers that her relationship with elusive businessman Sulaiman Mbugga aka
SK Mbugga is on the rocks.
Ever since they met several years ago, after Leila snatched
him from her sister Fatuma Zalwango, mother to four of Mbugga’s children with
whom he had spent close to 16 years, the birthday had always been a
multimillion affair, where invited revelers would indulge all manna of drinks
and bites till the wee hours of the morning.
Though Leila herself tried to play down the status quo,
claiming that her father had just gone through a tough operation, many in know
say that it is just a ploy to hoodwink her friends that everything with Mbugga
is still okay.
We reported last year in early October that the relationship
had hit the rocks after Leila learned that Mbugga was dating a sexy lady only
identified as Shadia working at a Beauty and Massage Parlor at Freedom city.
Shadia always worked on Mbugga and later retired with him.
Since then, Mbugga cut down on his vists at both the house
he built for Leila off Soya Bbunga road, and even at the LK fashion store that
is housed at the King Gate mall next to Shell Kabalagala.
To add salt to injury during that same period he was
involved in a tax arrears melee with
URA over a debt of 219 M shillings and
at one time, the tax authorities had moved
to attach some of his property after he had then failed to pay.
Mbugga then went underground but resurfaced weeks later
saying that he had sorted out his issues with the tax body but then again went
off the social circuit with many of his close friends saying that he had flown
to Europe, though they refused to give details of the specific countries.
Unless evidence to the contrary comes up, Thursday’s events will serve to prove more
that all is still not well in the couple’s relationship and this can only be
very good news to her estranged sister Fatuma.
